Kung Fu builds confidence, focus, discipline, strength, flexibility, and problem-solving skills that will last a lifetime. Our children’s program is designed to develop your child’s basic skills in martial arts. This will give them the foundation they will need for training and life.
Kung Fu means a skill attained through hard work over time. This philosophy alone teaches that you must work hard for what you want and that all things are attainable with patience and hard work. Nine Province Kung Fu children’s program is designed for kids 5 to 11. This class focuses on basic Northern Shaolin techniques. The curriculum rotates weekly through the three different fighting strategies of martial arts. one week we work on forms and Chin Na (grappling) the next week we work on Shuai Jiao (Chinese Wrestling) and then San Da (sparring). Kids 12 and over are invited to take any class.
We teach seven different styles of Chinese martial arts, these include Northern Shaolin, Hung Gar, Wing Chun, Praying Mantis, Shuai Jiao, Yang, and Chen style Tai Chi Chuan, meditation, and Lion Dancing.
Martial arts training has been proven to reduce drug use and self destructive behavior in teens by building confidence which can help with social acceptance and becoming a team player. Kung Fu builds coordination and stamina that will help in any sport.
Today kids have many unhealthy distractions. It's important to find a healthy activity that they will be interested in. Kung Fu is a way of life, not just a way of fighting.
